Chief P.I Onochie (July, 1940 – February 15 , 1988), often referred to as Showlight, was a Great Umueri hero, Philanthropist & shrewd businessman. He has been described as "the Greatest Umueri of his time" as well as" One of the greatest Umueri of all times".

Paul Izuogu Onochie was born into the family of Izuogu Onochi of Umuniko Exogenous family of Ugume Umueri on the month of July(Onwa Ito in Umueri lunar calender), 1940. This was during the Second World War and thus belonged to UKONNU AGEGRADE. He grew up in Northern Nigeria town of Maiduguri where he attended his Primary Education. However, his desire for further studies was cut short due to the fact that his parents could not afford to further his education and hence he ventured into the business of selling and buying of fairly used clothes (Popularly called OKIRIKA). Though he did not last long in the business when his desire for better and bigger business prompted him to changed his line of Business. Through the aid and assistance of Mrs V.O Edochie (Mother to a renown Nollywood Actor, Pete Edochie) and Mr. Emma Iweze from Mgbago Umueri, he was able to undertake apprenticeship/training in Photographic business at Aba.

During his training at Aba, he was known then as "Abum nke Onye". On 1st october 1963, he went to Onitsha where he decided with Mr Emma Iweze to name his photographic business "show de light". He was the first person to own a photo color laboratory in Old Anambra State. When he went back to Zaria he decided to re-brand the name to "show light". Thus became the Managing Director of Show Light Film Industries LTD. There in Zaria, he met and got married in the church to his first wife Mrs Gladys Ngozi Onochie in May 8 1966. Three weeks later after their marriage, they relocated to Onitsha because of the crisis that erupted in the Northern Part of the Country which leads to three years civil war. In Feburary 1972, he went back to Zamunda in Zaria with his family. From there, he traveled to Western Germany. In 1980, he traveled to London with his first wife where she learnt more about printing pictures. Later that same year, he got married to his second wife Mrs Josephine Onochie. In 1981, he traveled to Japan to learn the Japan style of printing. In 1982, he erected a two storey building which served the purpose of his home and industry. Later he diverted to other business which includes Agricuture,Importation etc

Life outside his business has been beneficial to the Society as he has contributed immensely to the manpower and general development of Umueri. He employed a lot of Umueri in his business to ensure that they are productive to the Society.

Its also on record that this kind hearted man single handily financed the Otuocha land dispute litigation involving Umueri and Aguleri which climaxed at Supreme Court in 1984. The Judgment of this litigation which arguably restore the right of Umueri in Otuocha owe a lot to him and other spirited Umuerians who fought vehemently against the Conquest of Umueri land.  It was due to this rare achievements that the reigning Traditional Ruler of Umueri then, Igwe Nelson Ugume Okoye and his Cabinet conferred on him the befitting title of "IDE UMUERI" He later got married to the 3rd wife Mrs Felicia Azogini Onochie in 1986. During his time on earth, he was a man who stood for the people of Umueri in all ramifications. He passed to the great beyond on15th Feburary 1988.
