Researchers On Igbo Origin Storm Umueri

On July 30th, Dr Chinedu Ozims of Connerstone University, Owerri & His Team of Researchers who are on fact finding mission, Stormed the Ancient Town of Umueri. This is coming on precisely one month after Nnamdi Kanu visited this same town to pay homage to the land of the first Igbo settlers.
The Team, who are researching on the history , migration and dispersal of first Igbo settlers from the town to all various part of Igbo land, was received by a team of Elders in Umueri Civic Centre where lecture and stories on Umueri Oral tradition of origin were told & Recited to the visitors, who were amazed with the revealation. According to the Head of the Research Team, Dr Ozim, he wondered why nobody is projecting Umueri History which he believed, if properly unearthed fully would go a long way into unlocking the dilemma of Igbo Origin.

Earlier prior to the Visit, the Head of the Team in telephone Conversation withComrade Biafra Diboh, the Moderator of Greater Umueri Liberation Forum (GULF) had expressed the dismay why the natives of Umueri has not been bold in telling the world their history, instead of allowing others to talk about their history. According to Comrade Biafra Diboh, Dr Ozims during the phone interaction had asked a very vital question: " If Umueri is indeed the Descendants of a female Offspring as widely written, why are they sourrounded by the Children of Eri male offsprings?" This question, which according to GULF leader was major reasons why the Team decided to visit the town and get a first hand account of their history.

The Team also visited the Palace of Sir Ben Emeka, a Renown Philanthropist from the town, where they also interacted with Chiefs and Title men from the community.

The team were thrilled with with the hospitality accorded to them by a community known for their uncommon hospitality. " We are indeed grateful for the warm welcome your people gave us today" He remarked! "I Have no doubt that this is where the Igbos started, but your people should be co-operative in helping us to help them out too. They are yet to even give us 70% of what we need"
